In my Opinion
I know it's been a while since yall have heard my expert opinion on the whole American Idol dealio. Part of that is my out of town-ness and inability to watch the show on time and the other part is I am just kinda getting bored of all the not so good singer/performers. I did get a chance to watch AI tonight in between dodging tornados and sipping some vino....Here is what really matters:

And the other 3 are just not. Sorry but it's really that simple. Hayley sounds and acts like an old lady, Casey is just an oddball and not an "American Idol", and what's his name I have been annoyed with since the beginning.

Goodbye to Naima and Thia
I think it's been quite obvious throughout the competition so far that these two just don't compete on the same level as the really awesome contestants. Their journey ends tonight.
As for me, I had the bottom 3 right I just though maybe a male would go home but instead its two more girls. Until next week :)

This is American Idol
Tonight the remaining 11 (since Casey was saved last week, leaving me still 2/2) will sing songs by Elton John.
Scotty McCreery- "Country Comfort"- not even sure if I have ever heard this song before?? Anywho, same ole Scotty- he's a country boy, he sings awesome, he gives shout outs during his songs, but he doesn't really do anything new, take any risks etc...might be boring???
Naima Adedapo - "I'm Still Standing" - Not for long ha! I think tonight she just proved that she isn't good, she is more of a wack job that can't sing.
Paul McDonald - "Rocketman"- He did well, but needs a new fashion consultant. I wasn't blown away, I don't think he will win the competition, but he will be back next week I believe.
Pia Toscano- "Don't let the Sun Go down on Me"- This girl has it all, she is beautiful, she's got pipes, she's got emotion, and her voice kicks a$$!!! Same thing different week...pure awesomeness!!! However, can we pahhhhlease get something new next week??? And the whole choir joinng in thing...not cool!!
Stefano Langone - "Tiny Dancer"- Just when you think he is down and out, he comes out and has a great performance. I think if you don't look at him, cuz he just looks ackward and weird, his voice is actually pretty good. I call it a come back...well at least for a week.
Lauren Alaina- "Candle in the Wind"- Is she not just the cutest thing? Her little video had me LOL-ing!! She is awesome and best performance of the night!! I was SOOO hoping she would sing this song when I heard the theme, she "slayed" it as Randy says. I LOVE Tyler's comment "you are gonna make enough money one day to afford the rest of that dress," hahaha!!
James Durbin "Saturday Night's Allright for Fighting"- This performance was completely insane, but in an awesome sort of way!!! He was running all over the place, throwing mic stands, dancing on the piano, and starting fires!! What can't this guy do?? He is a true performer!!
Thia Megia- "Daniel"- I thought she did really well, great song choice, and I think it was probably her best performance for her for me ha! However, I think she is too far behind. I hope she makes it through this week because I think her VOICE (which is what this is all about right??) is better than some of the others but unfortunately I think her fan base has fallen by the way side.
Casey Abrams- "Your Song"- after being voted off last week he really needed to bring his A++++ game tonight. Well I thought he did, I thought he was believable and I felt it!! I think he deserved the save, unless of course one of my faves is on the chopping block. Anywho great performance by him, hopefully good enough for a few million votes to remove himself from the bottom 3.
Jacob Lusk- "Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word"- ehhhh enough with the weird facial expressions already. Not a fan, sorry.
Haley Rhinehart- "Bernie and the Jets"- Well I love that growling thing and I think this was her best performance, at least in my opinion.

Can't go wrong with Motown!!!
Takin it back…MOOOOTOWN style!!! Great genre, and tonight was great and fun to watch.
Casey Abrahms-started it off with a classic that everyone knows, “I heard it through the Grapevine.” Great song choice as I am always a fan of singing songs your audience knows and he really put on a show tonight!! I loved the raspiness and audience interaction. Casey has redeemed himself in my book, way to go!
Thia Megia- After much criticism for singing the same thing every week, boring ballads, Thia came out with “Heatwave” another excellent song choice. She had the audience up their feet, and she did get lost in the song from time to time but I thought she did great. She was upbeat and fun and looked cute and trendy…all of the things a 16 year old should be.
Jacob Lusk sang “You’re all I Need to Get By.” Well his voice just screams Mo-town and he did awesome!! He reached the high notes, he hit the low ones, he put on a fantastic performance, and had the audience on their feet the entire song. Excellent job Jacob!!! I think the hug from Steven Tyler and the standing O from the judges says it all.
Lauren Alai- Sang “Set me Free Why Don’t ya Babe.” I just love her, she is someone I would be friends with! She is so fun, looked so pretty, and just had a great voice. She has a spunky and sassy and has a ton of attitude all of which is about to take her all the way through this competition. Well done Lauren, you rock!!!
Stefano Langone- sang “Eyes Open”- my opinion, I think he is skating on thin ice from week to week so I never know what to expect. I don’t know what to say about the performance tonight, I don’t think his voice is as beautiful and awesome as the judges and honestly his performance looked so difficult, like he was trying soooo hard rather than it just coming easy to him. It was good, I mean okay, but after what we have seen so far, I think he might be in trouble….
Haley Reinhart- “You Really got a Hold on me.” Humm Haley did well, she has a huge voice, has that growl thing I love, and looked awesome. Having said all of that I think it might just be too late for her or it might just be the beginning. If she is back next week, she needs to bring something even bigger and do it even better.
Scotty McCreery- “For Once in my Life.” Okay so we get it, he is a country singer, but are we sick of it and wanting to see something more??? I haven’t decided yet. His performances are all nice and good and all that, but are they memorable in a competition such as this? I am not so sure, it’s the same thing every time. I don’t think he’s going home, or even in the bottom 3 because I think he does have a huge fan base, but I am not sure how much longer his same ole country routine is gonna cut it.
Pia Toscana– “All is Fair in Love.” There is no denying it, her voice is absolutely amazing and she is beautiful. Week to week I can’t wait to hear her sing because I know it will always be awesome, she can sing the phone book as the judges have said in year past. I wish she would have sang a song I knew, nonetheless another great performance by Pia!
Paul McDonald – “Take a good look at my Face.” I thought he did well, however if that performance came on the radio on my way to work, I would absolutely change the channel. I just don’t get him or his voice.
Naima Adedapo- “Dancin’ in the Streets.”- Well she shut me up. I think she did great and had her best performance I remember from her. Her performance was fun, it was upbeat, it kept me engaged and interested and wanting to hear more. And holy dance moves, that was a sort of crazy awesome.
James Durbin -“Livin for the City.” Nothing new, amazing every week so far, he just brings it. He looks like a star on the stage and helloooo the crowd just LOVES him. He has become quickly one of my top 3.
Alright here it goes, and ps I am 2/2 so far, the pressure is mounting:

Not a good night on AI
The top 12 took the stage to sing songs from the year they were born. While I was not impressed with the majority of the contestants, I was impressed with J-Lo's hair, it was HUGE!!!
Well here goes nothing:
Naima Adedapo- I do not like her as a contestant or a performer and last nights performance didn't change my mind, not in the least. I think she is "dreadful" as Simon would say, I miss him. Sounds like she is screaming into the microphone, and having her go first really sets a terrible tone for the evening.
Paul McDonald- Love him or hate him he does what he does and he has people talking about it. I personally am not a huge fan of his very unique voice, I don't see him going anywhere with it. Also, about his wack-O dance moves, doesn't it just look like he is going to fall over at any minute??? I wonder how much he drinks before going on stage. I mean I guess his performance of "Thats why they call it the Blues" was okay, he's just weird and won't be an American Idol.
Thia Megia- Sang "Colors of the Wind." While I have not really thought much of her to this point, I thought she did a really nice job tonight. I really liked her song choice and I think she sang it beautifully. And for the first time I actually think she has a good voice and think her performance tonight has probably kept her around for another week.
James Durbin- When I saw he was singing "I'll be there for you" I was so excited for his performance as I LOVE this song...Take a great performer, a great song, and something completely different than what he has showed us the past 2 weeks and you get ANOTHER awesome job by James Durbin. Is there anything he can't do?? James is also a genius, he now has Stephen Tyler agreeing to sing with him in the finale, never seen that before but bravo bravo...will get votes just to see that. As much as I have tried to not like him, I think I love him now :)
Hayley Rhinehart- really needed to come out and have her performance of a life time tonight. Besides being completely confused with who she is, totally agree with Randy here, I don't think her rendition of "I'm your baby Tonight" was good, kinda annoying actually.
Stefano Langone- Sang "If you don't know me by now" and this was exactly what he needed. He had a great performance and sang the crap outta that song. Good night for this guy!
Pia Toscano- Sang "Where do Broken Heart go." After 2 amazing performances the past 2 weeks, I think she slipped just a tad here, but I mean the bar was wayyyy high, so just slightly slipping is really no big deal for her. She's still the current front runner in my humble opinion. I would like to see something different next week, something more upbeat and more current/fun!

When he is singing I can just picture myself at Jiffy Lube Live watching him on stage at WMZQ fest or opening for one of country's great. Do I think he is the next country great, but an opener possibly. I think he sang just fine, sounds great, performance is again nothing special, but good job all around.
Karen Rodriguez- "Love will lead you back"- things that make you go hummm...this girl drives me crazy. I do not like her in the least, her singing makes me ears ring. I have a feeling America is with me on this, and thank goodness I am guessing this will be the last we hear of her. When you are singing to AMERICA sing in ENGLISH!
Casey Abrams - "Smells like Teen Spirit"- okay people, the screaming has got to stop. It does not sound good and does nothing for your viewers ears. This was just not good.
Lauren Alaina- "I'm the only one"- I really want Lauren to do awesome, I want her to be the best and I want her to be my favorite- I think she has teh "it factor" that it takes to be an American Idol. Born in 1994, make me feel super old. I don't think she has surpassed Pia but her performance tonight, even while being sick was awesome and she has completely redeemed herself. Love that she got the audience involved, she's a star!!
Jacob Lusk- "Alone"- He wants to be good so bad, but unfortunately he just isn't awesome. I think his performance like others was a lot of annoying yelling and boringness.

top 13 perform
Lauren Alaina starts it off tonight with "Any Man of Mine," love this song. I wasn't in love with the performance though, thought it was kind of boring. Lucky for her she is super cute, has a great voice, and already has the Carrie/Kelly comparison.
No doubt she will be back next week, she already has a huge fan base that will pull it out for her but for next week....comeeeeeee on Lauren bring it girl!!!!
Casey Abrams performs "I get by with a little help from my friends"- WOW, loved it!! From him rummmmbling on the stares, first 5 seconds and he had me hooked. This guy is growing on me, beard AND all!!!
Ashton Jones, After being compared to Diana Ross last week, was inspired I guess to try and be her?? Not so much, her rendition of "When you tell me that you loved me" kinda sucked, yeah I said it. I was not a fan, boooooooooooooring.
Paul McDonald- Well he got up and stage and performed "come pick me up." What on earth was he doing up there?? The whole performance was just weird and ackward. I think he's in trouble. Sorry J-Lo I did not get it.
Pia Toscano- She is AWESOME, she sang "All by Myself," and she had me hooked the first time she belted out the chorus. She just looks like a professional, she sounds like a professional, you took a huge risk singing Celine and she nailed it! "Very hot/dope/cool performance" exactly, couldn't have said it better Randy!
James Durbin- He's just so pretty! Ha! No but really, he sang "Maybe I'm Amazed" and I was just that, amazed! His voice is awesome, and he isn't going anywhere- can't wait to hear him again next week!!
Hayley Reinhart- Sang "Blue." Hummmm I don't really have anything to say, I mean it was fine, she is super cute, she sang it pretty well, she did that growling thing with her voice that I love so much, but it wasn't anything I am going to remember tomorrow. She'll be back though...
Jacob Lusk- He sang "I Believe I can fly." He did a great job, overall a good performance in my opinion. Did he rock the house, no, but he definitely gets into his music which makes him entertaining and he has a voice to back it up!
Thia Megia- Sang "Smile" beautifully. Her voice is so peaceful and soft, very nice voice. Another one that is just okay and boring.
Stefano Langone- sang "Lately." To me it was kinda a mix between a Broadway play with those weird facial expressions, to some weird beat in the background where he was screaming in the foreground. I mean I think he had a few moments of okay-ness...
Karen Rodriguez- Sang "I Could Fall in Love," while I think she has a great voice, really great voice actually, but if she makes it through, I don't think she will be around forever. I don't think she has the "it" factor. I am thankful she stuck with one language though, thanks Kare Bear!!
Scotty McCreery - Sang "The River" by Garth Brooks. This was one of the ones I was soooo excited for going into tonight's performance. He made me proud, he had the audience involved, and he just looked like a natural up there!! Standing Ovation from the crowd for Scotty too hottie, awww!!!
Naima Adedapo- Sang "Umbrella." Hummm I did not like this performance and she isn't exactly my style. Did she even sing a note this evening?? However, she is different and I know how American's love different so I think we will see her again. She definitely brought flavor as Steve Tyler says.

9/10 based on America's Votes
It must be my ear for vocals but I would say a 90% prediciting the voting by American's is pretty awesome!!! The one I completely missed was Lauren Turner. Not only was she not voted in by America, the judges didn't even pick her as a wild card contender, tear :(

Idol Top 10 Picks
The two hour reults show airs tonight, thats right 2 hours of dumb group performances and videos to drag out this results show. But in the end...here are my TOP 10 picks from the 24 in the picture below!
For the GENTS!!
James Durbin- Yeah he's awesome. On Tuesday night he sang "You've Got Another Thing Coming" which was just fantastic. A very energetic performance and the things he did with his voice were out of this world. No that wasn't screaming it's actually a note, crazy. I would venture to say he is a top 12 guarantee. Casey Abrams- Sang "I Put a spell on you" and did he do just that is the question America. I think so, he had a great performance and showed a LOT of range in his vocals. Now if he could just shave?? Check his performance Here.
Jacob Lusk- Sang "A House is not a Home," on Tuesday night. And while I hate hate hate this song, mostly because it has been sang on American Idol a gazzzzzillion times, and is it bbbb-boring, he sang the crap out of it. His voice is good enough for top 12 and you could really tell he was feelin that jam, and being the 11th performance that will stick in the viewers mind. Paul McDonald- I am going to go out on a limb here with this choice. I think Paul has a big fan base because he is cute and fun, not necessarily for his voice. And definitely not based on his performance of "Maggie May" on Tuesday night. I think he is upbeat and has a twang the viewers will see and appreciate. Hopefully he can pick a more current song next round. Check his Tuesday performance HERE.
Scotty McCreery- Ahhhh out token Country boy!! I like him, well when you are listening and not watching his mouth. He has a good ole country boy look to him that is going to win the hearts of the fans. He sang "Letters from home," it was good, not great, but enough! Go Scotty Go!! Check his performance Here.

Lauren Alaina- My Favorite of the girls and who I am going to go ahead and call the next American Idol brought the house down last night. She sang "Turn on the Radio" which was a great choice for an upbeat youngster like herself. Randy compared her to a mix somewhere between Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood which were my 2 favorites from seasons past and really the only 2 that are still stars!! You go girl!! Pia Toscano- LOVE LOVE LOVED her performance last night, I also am obsessed with "I'll Stand By You" which she sang last night. She was the last performance, Rocked the place, and was given the first standing ovation by not only the crowd but the judges as well. I don't think she missed a beat, she really nailed this one. Great first performance, will definitely get her into the top 12, I will be interested to see how she does throughout the competition. Check her performance HERE.
Lauren Turner- Sang "7 day fool" last night, yeah I have never heard of it either...when you can choose ANY song you want, why oh why do contestants continue to choose songs no one has ever heard of. What I like about her is that grrrrr thing she does. She goes low, she goes high, she is fun to watch. I don't see her winning but I think she'll stick around another round or 4ish! Karen Rodriguez- She sang "Hero" last night by Muriah Carey. She did this whole English to Spanish number, helloooooo it's American Idol. While I wasn't a fan of the switching of languages I guess she did make it her own, she has a good voice, and a lot of people out there will probably appreciate her effort. I wouldn't say I got goosebumps like Mrs Lopez but I think the judges reviews is just what she needs to get top 12 status. View her performance HERE.
Haley Reinhart- First off I love her curls. Second I think she has the look to be an American Idol so I think that will get her the votes to keep her around for a little bit. Last night she sang "Fallen," which I think was a great song choice, beacuse people know the song!! She did well, not awesome, but she'll make the cut! Check her performance HERE.

James Durbin- Yeah he's awesome. On Tuesday night he sang "You've Got Another Thing Coming" which was just fantastic. A very energetic performance and the things he did with his voice were out of this world. No that wasn't screaming it's actually a note, crazy. I would venture to say he is a top 12 guarantee. Casey Abrams- Sang "I Put a spell on you" and did he do just that is the question America. I think so, he had a great performance and showed a LOT of range in his vocals. Now if he could just shave?? Check his performance Here.
Jacob Lusk- Sang "A House is not a Home," on Tuesday night. And while I hate hate hate this song, mostly because it has been sang on American Idol a gazzzzzillion times, and is it bbbb-boring, he sang the crap out of it. His voice is good enough for top 12 and you could really tell he was feelin that jam, and being the 11th performance that will stick in the viewers mind. Paul McDonald- I am going to go out on a limb here with this choice. I think Paul has a big fan base because he is cute and fun, not necessarily for his voice. And definitely not based on his performance of "Maggie May" on Tuesday night. I think he is upbeat and has a twang the viewers will see and appreciate. Scotty McCreery- Ahhhh out token Country boy!! I like him, well when you are listening and not watching his mouth. He has a good ole country boy look to him that is going to win the hearts of the fans. He sang "Letters from home," it was good, not great, but enough! Go Scotty Go!! Check his performance Here.
