To close out our wonderful Memorial Day Weekend we had the usual suspects over for a cookout, which just happens to be one of my favorite summer time activities.  Here's to a fabulous summer filled with friends, family, ocean and sand, our amazing baby boy and all of his milestones to come, and a pretty little cocktail or two!!

The Menu was delicious...Shrimp and Scallop Skewers inspired by Mango Mike's in Bethany Beach, rainbow of Veggies inspired by "need to eat a rainbow a day to be healthy," and for desert a very patriotic and healthy angel food cake, frozen yogurt, and strawberry/blueberry combination...magnifico!!!

It's really true when you hear kids make everything even better.  Ryan was an angel and we had an absolute blast having him with us at the beach!!

A look back, saying goodbye to 2011...

2011 has been an amazing year and has gone by wayyyy too fast but as usual we packed it all in and had so many wonderful experiences and made memories that will last a lifetime!!

On the Road...We've traveled across the country to Vegas (for my first time), to San Diego, to Miami, to Wintergreen, New York City, Hoboken New Jersey, and of course to Dewey Beach!


This Amazing Life...We have celebrated life's big events with our amazing friends, lots of 30th's this year (what?!?!  when did we turn 30!!), bachelorette parties, wedding showers, baby showers, weddings, new puppies, 1st birthdays, you name it- we were there for it.    We celebrated family, Sarah's ring dance in Richmond, Melissa's graduation from high school, Whit and Chris both moving to Arlington, Gma Thomas's first trip to the big apple, mothers day at a vineyard, fathers day cookouts, John's 70th birthday, Eric's 31st, and my 30th. 


And New Life...We celebrated new life as Mark and Dianna brought their new little baby Connor into the world.  We celebrated "We're Pregnant" with hummm I think we are up to 10 (scratch that 14) amazing soon to be parents expecting in 2012 (at least one in every month through August so far)- there sure has been a lot to celebrate.


And our Life...We celebrated 2 years of wedding bliss - can you believe it's already been 2 years?!?  We both won our fantasy leagues which was just awesome, seemed completely impossible as I started my season out 0-7- call it a come back!!!  Perfectly Planned was honored to plan/day of coordinate 4 beautiful weddings in 2011, if you are not currently a follower of our blog please bcome one!  Eric was awarded salesman of the year at KTL and I passed the PHR thank GOD, there was no way I was gonna spend my spring studying.  Callie turned 8 and Rocco turned 4 and they are both doing wonderful!  Our families are healthy and happy and we could not ask for more.



Of course our very favorite memory from 2011 was when we got this:

 

We now had everything we could ever want.  From this moment on we were parents, protective and worried and completely obsessed and in love with our little baby.  We could not be more excited to meet this little man and show him how much we already love him! 

All of these amazing experiences and memories we have been so lucky to have of course wouldn't be possible without the people we share them with.  As we look back on 2011 it is nothing but smiles and laughs, except for the times we wanted to kill each other ha, but for real we are surrounded by simply fabulous people and we wouldn't want to share this crazy life with anyone else!!


2011 has been great but I have a feeling 2012 will be the best yet and we can't wait and are sooooo excited for Ryan Christopher to join our family and to celebrate with everyone else as they have magical moments as well.

What a good daddy!!!

So tonight was our annual check up for these two:

 

We absolutely love our vet, Dr Chris is the best (especially with returning my texts every time Cal Wal has a hair out of place), and if it didn't cost a small fortune every time we went we would love to visit him more often.  Anywho our once 105lb chocolate lab- down to 93 and CWP down from 25 to 20...allllll props go to Eric!!!  He has been walking them every morning- rain, shine, or snow for the past 8ish months and it sure it paying off!!!

I guess we are all ready for this baby thing!!!  I even was able to hold back the tears while Callie got her shots, whooo hooo!!!

Today was one of those days that just reminds me of how lucky I am and how much I love my life...I slept in till 10, woke up to beyond amazing weather, took the dogs to the resevoir where Rocco fetched a stick for an hour and had a blast, I sat on a rock soaking up the sun and admiring the water surrounded by trees with the beautiful fall leaves, followed by a nice walk with the hubs and the doggies, a housewarming party with friends, and the Hokies win over Wake Forest on the side of our neighbors house- nothing like watching a football game outside!!  Soooo much fun, an all around just great day!!! 

Did I mention I love being outside?!?!

9 wasn't enough

Before we could even get off the course pretty much Eric was booking us a tee time for 18!!  Whoa!!  That is a long day, like 4 hours of trying to pay attention.  It was a beautiful day though and we played early before it was scorching.  On my first 18, I shot a 129...don't tell my grandparents that (they will not be impressed) but I am happy with my first score, not to mention Eric and I had a blast!!

We're not in Kansas Anymore

So last night I got no sleep, zero, zilch.  Our house was shaking all night (no, not what you are thinking)...STORMS...every rumble of thunder had my heart in my throat to be followed up by a big bolt of lightning...wow I was terrified.  I usually love thunderstorms but when the entire area is under Tornado watches and warnings all night long and even into today, sleeping easy was not an option for this girl.

I mean Really???

Not all of these bad boys whip you up, spin you around, and land you on a witch at the end of the yellow brick road.

That does not look like something I would like to be stuck in, nor my hubs, nor my dogs, nor all of my stuff.  Yes the thoughts going through my head while laying in bed listening to this craziness....we need to go to the basement, do I wake Eric up, am I just panicing for no reason, what do I need to save when our roof blows off, how am I going to get Callie and Rocco downstairs since they are both scared of the rain, oh man the list goes on and on.

Anywho, we did survive, and are all in one piece this morning.  Glad I could live to write about it haha :)

What a great day it was!!  The weather was amazing, we saw a ton of family, ate some amazing food, just had a fabulous day!!

In my family you have to die easter eggs until you have your own kids haha, soooo here we go again!!  I think we secretly kinda enjoy it though.

 

Grandma got into it also, went back and added stickers to our eggs :)

 

And what would be a party in our family without a million dogs!!

Don't let them fool you, they are not this well behaved...it's a little something called TREATS!!!  Easter Donut Dog treat, look yummy huh!!
