It's done.  Well except to hang something on the wall but I am not holding my breath that will happen while we live in this house.

Eric and I have been in the market for a sideboard type dealie for quite some time to add some furniture/storage space to our dining room.  Now that it's painted we are even more antsy to get the room finished.  Here is what we decided on and should arrive within 8-10 business days whooo hooo!!!  Will be sure to post pics once the goods have arrived and the room is put together!!

Project...Master Bathroom

I am on a spring cleaning/house decorating/get stuff matching and put together and looking nice roll and when I get on a roll yall betta look out!!!  Good thing this was a not so busy Friday, Jilly bean has completely re-vamped by Master Bathroom for me. 

We did the painting a few months back and then....hum nothing

So first things first, TOWELS!!!  I love towels and pillows and everything else fluffy, colorful, and easily changed!!  To present my towels I want to first take down our silver bar towel rack and install this:

Cute Huh!!  Then we hang the selected towels, alternating but not symmetrical my interior decorator has informed me. 

On the top of the shelf we add this beautiful star fish plaque, leaning on the wall which will look great with the brown wall and one smell good thing (one of the 2 in the back row).

Floor Mat idea, not set in stone yet...But it's hard to turn down when it's all my towel colors in one bath mat!!!

I am so pumped!!  And luckily I have nothing to do this weekend besides make all of these things happen!!!  Happy Friday everyone, hope you have a grrrrrrrrrrrreat weekend!!!

Nice lil Saturday....

After a crazy busy week we figured ...why stop for the weekend.  Saturday morning we woke up bright and early to start taping our bedroom...It's painting time....

After we finished the first coat it was goodbye Christmas....sooo sad :(, we had such a great Christmas, stinks when you have to pack it all up...

I told ya I love love love all of your Christmas cards with pictures of your families,babies, dogs etc etc...these will remain up all year...thank you for all the other cards as well, unfortunately they don't make the fridge :)

Andddd back to painting!!!  one more coat and we are done....This is not the color we were expecting, buttttt it kinda growing on us...Kinda reminds us of yoohoo, ya know the chocolate milk???

 

 

We also had our first basketball game tonight, Chantilly Fury (our team) vs Vienna, IN ALEXANDRIA...88 miles roundtrip for this game.  We don't really need to discuss the details of the game...Whitney and I did return home to a house full of some of my favorite people, a ton of food, and a nice glass of wine :)

Project...master bathroom

Eric and I have been back and forth a million times on what color to paint our bedroom and bathroom, and FINALLY and completely sporadically as we make most of our decisions, we picked.  Brown, a mocha brown, for the bathroom...it looks awesome, the pics don't even do it justice!!!  Hopefully we get to the bedroom sometime this week!!  I love doing projects together, was the perfect ending to our fabulous holiday weekend.

final inspection on the horizon

Almost a year ago, Eric and I went and signed our lives away, well at least our bank accounts when we bought our new house. Well we recently just received the check list for the final walk through, that's right it's almost been a year holy Smokes. I hate the word final. Growing up it meant okay please memorize all this crap for the "final" next week, and if you aren't able to well sorry but you are completely screwed because that is your grade for the class, just awesome! Or the final buzzer would sound and the fact that you were winning 30 seconds ago but not now really sucks, ever think about what you would do if you just had 1 more minute!!! Nowadays Final is just so well final. I don't like when things end, never have, and I don't like not being able to go back and change/fix something. Which brings us to our "final" inspection. So now not only do you spend thousands to buy your house if you don't catch something that could potentially be majorly wrong RIGHT NOW, well once again you are screwed.

This weekend we were sitting on the deck and conveniently a model house is basically in our backyard for the single family homes. Some crazy lady is standing outside with her sign that says "ask me about my Miller and Smith home." Obviously it was only a matter of moments until we couldn't stand the suspense anymore at which point Whitney decided to go get the dirt. After a good 20 minute convo with the crazy lady, Whitney returns. She insists we get a professional to come look at the house before this walk through. Apparently crazy lady has had her roof blow off, her house is on a slant, and she has some water problem which of course you can't see through the walls therefore wouldn't make the check list without a professional. Sooooo here we go, all I see are dollar signs flying out the window, but hey what's new. Obviously it would be better to spend the money now rather than replacing our roof when it flies off...

So on that note, anyone know a home inspector? It's always something isn't it.

just in the nick of time....

Our Deck is FINALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY complete!!! This comes 4 days before an expected 60+ people will be on it celebrating Eric's 30th birthday....we sure will see how sturdy that thing is!!! Thank you soooooooooooooooooooooo much to Mike and Jason for building this for us. Inspection today, keep your fingers and toes crossed!!

Taking full advantage of the Memorial Day sales Eric and I headed up to Ashley furniture and left with a new sofa!!

Of course we have to wait until the end of June which seems light years from now but we are confident the wait will be well worth the comfort!!!

You are correct, we haven't even broken ground on the deck and the new deck furniture is in the mail!!! Hey sometimes you just can't turn down a good deal!!

It's so funny how your interests change as you "grow up", for instance 5 years ago the idea of waking up early on a Saturday morning, heading to the home dePOT and picking out flowers to then bring home and do manual labor WOW would have had BEYOND zero interest to me.... Eric was out of town for Well's final farewell and Debs and I had so much fun!! Sooo many flowers to choose from!! It was very obvious I was a planting flowers/gardening newbie haha (soil, that's already under the mulch?? really?? yeah I had no idea whoops), thank you mom for helping me, and the end result is sooo purty!! The Hydrangea bushes are my absolute Faves...love those!!

nothing says summer time....

like sitting on your deck with a nice glass of wine!! As of today we are one step closer to that reality. Our deck application has been approved, let the construction begin!!!

Picking paint colors is not an easy task, unless of course you are obsessed with Virginia Tech then it might be the easiest decision you ever have to make!!

new fence

For those of you that have dogs you definitely understand the value of having a fence. Callie and Rocco are pretty good dogs and typically do come back when they are called, and in my opinion if they want to take the risk of leaving us then more power to them. However, for the random times Callie likes to run circles around our entire row of townhouses in the freezing cold, or Rocco’s desire to bolt across the street to sniff, lick, and jump on just about anything that walks by, their jail has finally been built!! I am sure our neighbor is going to appreciate the fence maybe even more than us due to Rocco’s land mines he tends to leave in their yard daily. The fence is going to be a great addition to our house and allow the dogs time to spend outside without constant supervision, they grow up so fast haha We do however have to go in 5 feet from the edge of our property line since we are the end unit allowing drivers to see around the turn (darn HOA and all their rules), so any ideas of what to do with 5 feet of land on the outside of the fence would be greatly appreciated…so far a pitching mound is running in 1st place!!!
