Welcome Emily Nora King!!

It all started on the 4th of July with some major contractions, those things hurt like you know what!  We were hoping for our little fire cracker on the 4th but never called the doc.  Didn't want to be "that girl" that is calling the doctor over every feeling out of the ordinary.  The next day Eric, Ryan, and I went to Costco and another contraction, so Eric talked me into calling the doc on the way home.  He wasn't thrilled to hear from me, I certainly didn't sound like I was dying of pain and in serious labor or anything.  We went home, Sean and Sonya to the rescue to watch Ryan, and Eric and I headed to the hospital, once again no car seat and no bag packed or ready to go...typical King fashion, what plans?!?!

We arrive in Triage about 3:00pm and they hook me up to the monitors.  For a while it just showed a unhappy Ute so after a while I was about to just take everything off and head home, was getting sick of being there.  Then the upsetness wasn't going away and they were becoming more and more consistent, aka contractions oh my!  So they sent us down for a sonogram, everything looked fine on there, cervix was still closed etc etc, back up to our room and ready to head home to the pizza the Farells had ordered!  But then they hooked me back up and I was having contractions 4 minutes apart, not really feeling anything???  Called the doc, he was on his way back in and we were headed to delivery!

The delivery was the same as with Ryan, well a lot less dramatic, Emily came out breathing and crying PHEW!  As soon as we heard her cry, I started tearing and Eric was showing a huge sign of relief.  Emily Nora King was born at 11:15pm on Friday, July 5th, 2013 weighed 7 lbs 8ounces and was 20 and 1/4 inches long.  She is absolutely perfect, beautiful, and so so so little.  How quickly you forget how little these babies start out.

We got to our room around 2:30am, finally got settled and Em's was making noises that sounded familiar to us from Ryan, a grunting sound.  We asked the nurse and she said to watch her closely, aka don't go to sleep, sometimes the c-section babies still have fluid in there they need to get out.  Well we were exhausted so we asked the nurse if they could watch her in the nursery for like an hour so we could catch a quick snooze.  Everything went fine and she returned to our room.

The next day we woke up, Em's was fine, and we were anxiously anticipating Ryan coming to visit and meet his little sister!!  He didn't really pay attention to care, just wanted Grandma but it was so good to see him!!

Later that day RIGHT as the pediatrician came in, Emily started throwing up and choking and not breathing.  The pediatrician suctioned her out and suggested we take her down to the nursery to be checked out, Eric took her down there while the doctor was checking me out.  Then they weren't back so I walked down there to find the NICU doctor in there and we were admitted to the NICU, xrays showed a pnemothorax which is a tear in her lung.  It was small and she healed it all on her own!!!
Nurse Marie!!!  Our favorite NICU nurse with Ryan and Emily!!!
On Tuesday we were both discharged and headed home as a very happy family of 4!!  The dress Emily wore home from the hospital was the same one I wore home a loooong time ago!!!  Thank you Grandma for getting that all fixed up for her!!

When we arrived home Ryan was sleeping, which gave us enough time to get his big brother present all set up for him!!  He is now a grill master!!

Ryan has been so wonderful and LOVES his "sistur!!!"  I am such a happy mommy and love these two little babies so so so much!!!!
