Gratitude .. Day 13 - My Little BUG is 2!!

Ryan!!  That's what I am SOOOOOOO grateful for!!

Dear Ryan,
How or what I ever did to deserve a kid that is so sweet, lovey, genuine, funny, smart, happy, and just all around absolutely amazing is beyond me!  Two years ago my world was turned complete upside down and I was changed forever.  I was a mom (finally) and had the most beautiful miracle which was you, Ryan.
So 2 years old, I can't believe it.  You are 29.8lbs (70th percentile), 37 inches (97th percentile), and your head remains the biggest at 20.5 inches (99th percentile).  I feel like you were born yesterday and then I feel like we have lived a life time together.  You are hilarious and know how to joke around, that in itself is hilarious watching you trying to be funny.  You are smart, you can basically have an entire conversation, you comprehend and can relate things in different settings.  You are beautiful, inside and out!  Of course you have your moments but you are sweet and loving and of course super cute!  Terrible two's don't scare me, I think it's going to be you growing and becoming who you are going to be and I am excited to try and shape that person.  I love watching your personality at work and grow and you are ALL boy!  Climbing on everything, crashing cars, getting muddy, throwing balls etc etc.
When you say "I love you Mommy" my heart melts, when we cuddle and read your books I don't ever want the moment to end, when you come cuddle in the mornings are some of my most favorite times, and when we take baths every night those are my favorites!  You are such a special kid, everyone loves getting to spend time with you and looks forward to seeing you again!  I almost feel desperate to slow down time, or keep you just like this, or insure that I can remember how you are right now forever.

You make me want to be a better person, you make me see the simple and little things in life, you show me what it's like to see only peace and love and happiness in the world.  Your little face is the sweetest little thing and one of your smiles can change any bad mood or bad day anyone is in.  Every day, every single one, you amaze me with the little boy you have and are becoming.  I can't wait to see what the future has for you and for us as a family, but I want to remember these moments forever.  I think the song "Let them stay little..." was talking about this time RIGHT NOW!!!  I am so grateful and thankful and everything I can possibly be that I was given this chance to be YOUR MOM!!!

Love always and forever and ever!!

Mommy

~This is going to be my last every month posting, I doubt I'll be able to stay away long and I am not good with change as we all know so maybe i'll be back next month but I am not going to commit to every month past 2.  I will definitely keep track of anything we always want to remember though, which of course is EVERYTHING!!

Gratitude ... Day 12 - Ryans 2nd Construction Themed Birthday Party

Today was amazing and perfect in so many ways!!   Ryan and our family have such an amazing support system that traveled near and far to celebrate Ryan's 2nd Birthday with him.  I absolutely love doing all the little details, it is so fun for me to do these things for my little man, even though he prob won't remember, it will be fun for him to look back at!  We had a fabulous construction party for the big 2!!!

I love the prep for these parties and the time you get to spend with people helping!!  A HUGE thanks to Jennifer and Madi, super mom and daughter pair that came up on Saturday and made the greatest dirt cake ever!!!  It was delicious!!
Every kid was greeted at the door to "clock in" for work and were given a uniform.  The uniform was these awesome hard hats that said "Ryan's Crew" and a tool belt from Home Depot.  They were given blow thingys and stickers for their tools!!
One of my favorite details was right at the entrance.  I took the banner I made for Ryan's 1st birthday with a pic from months 1-12 and hung it above the banner I made for his 2md birthday with a pic from each month 13-24.  It was just awesome and completely brought tears to my eyes looking back at this little man who has grow up so much and so fast.
My print outs of signs and everything else was from Amanda's Parties to Go on Etsy!  I love these little packages they really allow you to make everything personal for such a great price!
So many kids, so much fun!!!

And some of Ryan's Grandmas and Papas!!!!
It's so fun for Eric and I to have kids that love and love to play with all of our friends kids!!

THE CAKE!!!  OMG the cake!!!  The actual cake was "Dirt Cake" that was made up of all the best ingredients including OREOS!!!

The ducks are in the Pond which is blue Jello!  The yummy cake is in the biggest toy Tonka truck I have ever seen, the signs also from Amanda's parties to go, and the gravel cocoa puffs!
As each kiddo left the party they were given their treat bag for all of their "Hard Work" today!!  The goody bags were filled with constructions rubber duckies, stickers, and some smarties!!
This was an awesome day and Ryan told me he had so much fun which is all that matters!!  Anything for my little guy!!  We love you so much!!

Happy 88th Birthday

I am a little behind on my blog posts these days but I don't want to forget my Grandma's 88th birthday celebration on February 24tg!  We had a wonderful family dinner at Da Domininco's in Tysons, where she was finally able to meet her great grandson.  My grandma suffers from Altheimer's so I am not sure she knew who we were but she knew there was a baby and was so happy to meet him :)  I am so glad we had this chance!!

A Perfect start to the 30's!!!

We spent the week leading up to 30 at Dewey Beach for our annual Parker beach vacation, more on that later, but we left bright and early this morning (my birthday) and headed home, tear :(  We got home, unloaded the car not to be confused with unpacked, took and nap and then Debs showed up with the dogs who we hadn't seen in a week and a half, so exciting!!  Soon arrive Courtney and Whit and we headed out for a girls spa day, it was absolutely what the doctor ordered, the perfect way to top off a fabulous week at the beach, and a great way to continue my 30th birthday celebration.  Courtney had made reservations at La Vida salon for massages and then the nail salon next door for pedicure, soooo relaxing!!!

And then to finish off a perfect and totally relaxing day, we went to Benihana's for dinner.  It was delicious and so much fun!!  Thank you everyone who made it out!!

Really was the perfect birthday, I am so lucky!!!
