17 months

Ry Ry!

17 months have come and gone already, I can hardly remember how you were week to week, you grow and you change so much, speed through every phase, and have turned into this amazingly funny, super cute, awesome little guy with so much personality!  Your hair is so cute and curling at the ends, I love it!  You have a zillion teeth, got your eye teeth this month, I think you have all but maybe 1 or 2 teeth at this point.  You eat whatever we are eating, drink water and milk during the day, wear 18-24 months clothes, moved up to size 5 diapers, go to bed at 7:30-8 and sleep till 6:30-7.  Your favorite new thing this month is cereal from a bowl with a "manana."  You have developed your very own independence and push me away when I am following you around with a "I can do it on my own" expression and then when you want something you grab my hand and pull me to what it is you want me to do!

You could live outside, in a tent, forever!  We spent 2 weeks this month living at Gma and Papa's, they are like your grown up play toys, and let you play with everything.  Some of your favorites are sitting in the "Yipp" (jeep) and dancing to music, helping Mike wash the truck, taking laps and laps around the court pushing all your toys, swinging on your swing Papa hung in the tree, and chasing whoever will run with you in circles around the backyard.  You refuse to come inside, like actually shake your head NO- not sure where you learned that, and if we pick you up to bring you inside you are noticeably not a happy camper.  You def have a way of showing us when you are not happy, usually right after you don't get exactly what you want when you want it, tantrum much?!?!   You even HAD to be outside when it was raining, playing in the puddles....are you a boy or what?!?!?!

This month we had lots of fun stuff going on with our neighbors!  You love the Wahlquists moon bounce, running around with all your little friends, and CRABS!  You love cracking and eat them!  You are a dancing machine!  At the block party, Will had music playing and you were up there dancing dancing dancing, it was HILLARIOUS!!!

You are so so so smart and amaze me everyday with what new word(s) you have learned.  Victoria has been amazing with you and teaching you so many words.  You know your animal sounds for cow, sheep, rooster, HOKIE, pig, dog etc etc.  So we decided you would have a great time at the Leesburg petting zoo and boy were we right.  After getting used to all the animals you ran around with them "baaaaaing" and "moooooing" at them, it was so funny!  We've also been practicing "sistur" and "Emineee."  Your little voice is just to die for!

We went to Bethany with the Well's, and as always this was a blast and even more fun watching you interact with Connor.  You love him!  You love chasing him around and doing and wanting the things he does and wants.  You guys played together on the beach for hours with all his beach toys!  Thank you Connor for sharing so nicely!!

We also went to the Fairfax Fair and while you are still a few years away from the rides, you had a great time looking at everything and dancing to all the sounds you heard.  You even won your first prize, a monkey!!!

You have been on a babysitter binge.  This month has been Victoria and you guys have had so much fun together!!  I think you have her wrapped around your little finger, but she seems to enjoy it and keep coming back for more!  Tomorrow is her last day though, we are so thankful for the time she has spent with you and will miss her like crazy!  You have been so flexible with everything going on, different houses, different sitters, different cribs, etc and you always seem to adjust and continue being happy!  Mommy can't wait to be home with you for 12 weeks very soon!!!

I think this is going to be your last month as an only child.  You have been the best baby we ever could have hoped for and can only hope your little sister will be as easy and adaptable.  I have been so worried about you and having your world come crashing down but we got the delivery date the other day and now I am excited!!  I see the way you are with other kids and have no doubt you are going to be the BEST big brother ever and take such good care of your little sister!

You are our world and we love you so so so much!
