Bitter Sweet Final Week is Brambleton

Last week in our Townhouse, how bitter sweet it is....

This is our last week in our first house!  We bought our townhouse in the spring of 2009, we took trips out to Brambleton, from Arlington, almost every weekend to check on the status of our home.  We picked out the counters and the floors and the bathroom tiles, and designs, sink and facets, and even opted for the extra hole in the wall to the basement.  We closed on our very first home, 42722 Twinleaf Drive, on Halloween 2009 exactly one week before we would become husband and wife.  Desperate to enjoy evenings outside we sat on 6 pieces of wood for a few weekends while our deck was being built, we had Eric's 30th birthday party, hosted a whole gamete for holiday get together's for family and friends and a countless number of cookout.  We have so many nights and memories with the best neighbors you could ever dream of sitting on the deck drinking way too much wine, block parties in the street, Tech games projected on houses, snow parties, and just amazing times with neighbors who have become some great friends.

In January 2012 we welcomed our baby boy and began our family in this house.  We painted the nursery and decorated the perfect little sports fan room for him to spend his first 16 months!  Ryan also has so many friends in the neighborhood that he has gotten to know through daycare, swim lessons, moms groups, and just playing outside!!

This was a good time for us to purchase a single family home.  Rates are great, value of our house was good, and with another baby on the way who wouldn't love some extra space.  While we look towards the future with excitement and know that our neighbors are just 5 miles down the street, we are really going to miss our life here on Twinleaf.

This townhouse was always a short term plan for us and it was everything and more than we could have dreamed up.  The house is beautiful and we love it and the neighborhood was more than we could have hoped for.  The plan was a 3 year stepping stone and close to 4 years later we are moving on.  Bye bye house, it's been a great 3.5 years and we will surely always treasure the memories that were made here.
