18 months

Dear my little Ryan,

You are now a year and a half old, 18 months, growing way to fast etc etc.  I will know your height and weight next week when we take you to the doc and will update this at that time.  Size 5 diapers, eating everything, drinking milk and water and an occasional sip of whatever someone else is drinking, love love love flavor ices and ask for them constantly.  This month you had lots of different babysitters!  Madi came up from Richmond for a week and stayed with you at moms house.  You guys had fun riding bikes, going to the pool, playing in the front yard, and going for lots of walks.  Melissa came and stayed with us the second week in our new house to take care of you!  She took off a week from work just for the chance to get to spend time with you for the week and we are so grateful!  And we totally lucked out that the family "Vick" is babysitting for went on vacation the week of July 4th and was able to come back and stay with you again, you love all your cousins!

 

Lets see, you love playing outside, you have a water park and a baby pool on the deck and spend as much time out there as possible.  You also love going for walks and car rides!  You have continued to expand your vocabulary which is way beyond your age as it is, you are learning colors now and your favorite is "geen."  You are well OBSESSED with Mickey and Mickey Mouse Club House.  You dance through the whole thing.  Actually you dance everytime you hear anything that resembles music including the ice cream man coming to the pool.  Oh yeah and you love the pool!  We went there a few times this month.  The pool is great it has a beach access so you just walk right in, waterfalls which you love but then don't like when they splash on your face.  We took lunch up there one day and you ate a whole sandwich cut into 4's.  You are just all grown up, it is so exciting/sad/entertaining, etc.  You really only stay a baby for a few months!  Your hair is still growing, is bright blonde, and getting curly in the back.  Dad wants to cut it, I have held out, but the fact that you sweat every time you ride in the car or do anything, I might be coming around!

  

You climb on everything, flip everything over and climb on the other side!  We started a little gym class with you this month which is awesome!  Your little friends Ginny and Maddie are in the class and you have so much fun!  Imagine a big huge room coated with mats, perfect and you take full advantage running full speed and climbing on everything there as well.  You love to read book, favorite of the week is the "Tractor" one and if we leave it upstairs during the day thats a big no no and it gets read at least 6 times before bed.  Bed time has been going well, still bath then bed, bed time is more around 8-8:30 these days, happy summer to you!

 

 
This biggest new thing this month, is you are a BIG BROTHER!!!  You are absolutely wonderful with your little sister.  I was so worried/scared to hurt your feelings with another baby but you are doing awesome!  You love her and bring her blankets so she doesn't get cold.  When we take her diaper off you take yours off by yourself.  You love touching her hand and rocking her in her little rocky thing.  You give her kisses every time you have to go to sleep and she is the first person, besides grandma that you ask about every morning.  I can't wait until I am fully recovered so we can play for the rest of my maternity leave.

Not so sure about all this and wondering why everyone is looking at him....

You are the coolest, funniest, most adorable little man I have ever met and you make us so happy and grateful to be your parents.  I can't wait to get you out of your crib every morning just to see what the day ahead holds.  We love you so so so much and are so proud of you!!
